Loaded Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes



A tasty take on the traditional sandwich, these Loaded Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes are sure to please. The meat and vegetables get rich, savory flavors from the slow cooker while it does all the work. Put cheese, pickles, and jalapeos on top of the burger to make it taste even better.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sliced pickles and sliced jalapeos for topping

Instructions:

In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned

Drain any excess fat

Place the cooked beef, diced onion, diced bell pepper, diced celery, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper into a slow cooker

Stir everything together, cover the slow cooker, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the vegetables are tender and the flavors meld together

When ready to serve, split the hamburger buns and lightly toast them

Spoon the loaded sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, and top with sliced pickles and sliced jalapeos

Place the top half of the bun on top, securing your loaded sloppy joe burger

Serve hot and enjoy!
